This weekend I threw a babay shower for a friend. I made bath salt for all the women and they turned out so wonderfully that I had to share what I did!
- 1 cup Epsom Salts
- 1 cup Sea Salt
- 1 tablespoon Backing Soda
- 1 tablespoon lavender flowers
- 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil (CPTG)
While I was watching a movie I added about 1/3 cup of these bath salts to my water bath canner (a really big pot) and filled it with hot water. Putting my feet into this salty steaming water was the most delicious thing that I have done for myself in a month! It was like submerging my whole body into a hot springs, but I was in my living room. When I wrapped myself up in a blanket, I made sure to put the blanket on the outside of the pot, trapping the steam. I had my very own steam room and foot soak! When the water chilled I put more hot water into my pot. I really felt like the soak was pulling toxins out of my body. I think next time I am going to try wild orange-it is a really great tonic. It also made me so relaxed!
I had no issue falling a sleep as soon as I was done.
FYI-When adding essential oils to baths and soaks make sure that you mix the oil with salts first. This will help disperse the oils throughout the water rather then the essential oil sitting on top.

I love taking a bath in my Healing Bath, Feet and Shower Salts. My favorite essential oils to use in the salts are eucalyptus and peppermint together.
I was thinking about using lemon next time to help pull out toxins! Don’t you love essential oils!
Anytime you take a foot or body bath with epson salt or the sea salts, they contain up to 84 trace minerals and will pull toxin out from the pores of your skin. Lemon sounds good to me. Think I’ll soak my feet tonight. http://www.ashleysbacktonature.com
